Can you get red wine out of a rug?
Red wine often comes out well, particularly when it's addressed before it fully sets and oxidizes into the fibers. Old, dried wine that has bonded with the fibers is tougher, so we give you an honest read at inspection rather than overpromising.
Which stains are the hardest to remove or permanent?
The most difficult stains are those that dye or bleach the fibers, such as old ink, permanent marker, harsh cleaning chemicals, and color-loss spots where the original dye is already gone. Once a fiber has been chemically dyed or stripped of color, cleaning can't restore it because the stain has replaced the pigment. Should I treat a stain myself before you pick up the rug?
Blot fresh spills gently with a clean white cloth, but avoid scrubbing or store-bought stain removers, which can spread the stain, damage dyes, or set it permanently. Aggressive DIY treatment is a common reason a removable stain becomes permanent. Blot, then call us for free DFW pickup so the rug is treated correctly with proper dye-testing.
Does old age make a stain impossible to remove?
Older stains are harder to remove because substances oxidize and bond with the fibers over time, but many still respond well to full-immersion cleaning.
